Coastguard Lookout is a newly built cottage with stunning sea views over the Fleet and across Chesil Beach in the village of Wyke Regis. The Fleet is a coastal inlet that is a haven for wildlife and with a multitude of walks on your doorstep is ideal for lovers of the outdoors. Two balconies on the property aid the views over the Fleet and allow you to view the wildlife from the comfort of the property.
The accommodation at Coastguard Lookout comprises of the two bedrooms on the ground floor arranged as a kingsize double and a standard double with a bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and toilet. Up stairs to the first floor with an open plan kitchen/lounge/diner with access to the two Juliette balconies. The kitchen comes well equipped with induction hob and cooker, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge with ice box. There is a flat screen smart TV and Blu-ray player in the lounge with WiFi throughout. A travel cot can be made available.
There is off road parking available with a height restriction of 2.1m and your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
Wyke Regis is a village tucked away between Weymouth and Portland and is an ideal location to explore the local area, World Heritage Jurrasic Coastline and the Rodwell Trail.Read more
A church has been at Wyke Regis since 1172 and the present church was built around the 1450's. Above the main door there is a carving of the Royal Arms of Henry VIII, said to have been brought here originally from Sandsfoot Castle which lies on the coast on the Wyke side of Portland Harbour and is well worth a visit, as is the cafe just a little further along from the castle.
The hub of the village is the square in what is called "Old Wyke" which hasn't really changed much in the last couple of hundred years and is every picturesque.
Wyke Regis lies along the Rodwell Trail, a track that follows the track bed of the Old Weymouth to Portland Railway line for just over two miles between Abbotsbury Road in Weymouth to just beyond Wyke Regis at Ferrybridge. It makes for a great walk with views to keep you company on route and is realtively level the length of the trail so a good way to get to Weymouth although there are a few beaches you could explore at the Wyke end too.
